Ezekiel 33:11
"as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the
death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn!
Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?'
God doesn't let us fall into filthiness that would eventually bring us death.
He rather wants everyone of us to turn away from the wrong direction and come
back to Him. It is never too late because God is still waiting for all of us.
I pray that God's grace will shine upon us that all of us will repent and come
back to the intimacy with our Lord.

Romans 10 One
thing we have an issue with is saying what we mean. For example, the Apostle
Paul goes on to say how if you believe in your heart that what you say can be
justified. But something we all have an issue with is believing in something
half heartedly. This is a problem because if we say we love God and believe in
Jesus dying for us that becomes in issue if we don't believe it. This becomes
empty words. Words without meaning. We should always be careful of what we say
and think before we speak but also to have faith and belief in what we say.

Ezera 10:4
Arise, For it is your task, and we are with you be strong and do it.
This is like the charge to Joshua at the first entry of Israel into the land

strong and just do it with fearless, no questions ask.

Ruth
1-4
Oh man the book of Ruth provides a beautiful "interlude of love" in the period
of the judges in Israel-an era marked by immorality, idolatry, and war. This
heartwarming account of devotion and faithfulness tells the story of Ruth, a
Moabite widow who leaves her homeland to live with her widowed Jewish
mother-in-law in Bethlehem. God honors her commitment by guiding her to the
field of Boaz, where she gathers grain and eventually finds a husband. You
know I'm starting to wonder what love really is these days. Love is just
difficult to define because it is a quality of life more readily demonstrated
than described. Ruth most definitely demonstrated the true character of love
when she willingly and steadfastly pledged her allegiance and devotion to
Naomi. Of all that I read in these 4 chapters I ask myself how I can give
myself sacrificially to someone around me?

Judges 17-21
NO KING. ‘Israel had no king…’ There is more to that phrase than the simple
fact that Israel had yet to crown her first king. It is an acknowledgment that
the nation had forsaken her true king-the God of her forefathers. In God’s own
words,”They have rejected me, that I should not reign over them” That’s from
Samuel 8 and 10; and the result was national chaos and corruption. You know I
have to just say that a collapse in the Christian life is a seldom a blowout;
it is usually a slow leak.

1Chronicles 5:18-22
They waged war against the Hagrites Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab and when they
prevailed over them the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into
their hands for they cried out to God in the battle and he granted their
urgent plea because they trusted in him they carried off their livestock
50,000 of their camels, 250,000 sheep 2000 donkeys and 100,000 men alive for
many fell because the war was god God. and they lived in their place until the
exile.
the Chronicle has reworked a military census and battle report concerning the
two and a half trives to express one of his characteristic which God answers
his people and grants them with victory when they cry out to him and trusting
prayer. we need to cry out to him with prayer every day in our life then we
will grant with victory.

-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Judges 13-16
Even before his birth, Samson's destiny is clearly announced. He is to be
separated unto the Lord for a divine mission-a mission requiring him to
abstain from certain defilements. Miraculous in his birth and equipped with
supernatural strength for the task of delivering Israel from Philistine
domination, Samson instead spends much of his life violating his Nazorite vow.
Because of his lack of control, he loses his secret, his hair, his strength,
his sight, and eventually his life-but not before God uses him in a mighty way
to avenge the Israelites of their oppressors. A HISTORY of failure is my life,
like that in the lives of Jacob, Samson, and David, need not disqualify myself
from God's service, provided I continue to grow up-not merely grow old-in my
walk with Him. You know failure is something we can avoid by saying nothing,
doing nothing, and being nothing.

2Kings:6:18
And when the Syrians came down against him Elisha prayed to the Lord and said
"Please strike this people with blindness" so he struck them with blindness in
accordance with the prayer of Elisha.
Talking about blindness it's not physical sight but dazed mental condition in
which they are open to suggestion and manipulation but still able to follow
the prophet to Samaria. the syrians are "bedazzled" and do not see things
clearly whereas Elisha's servant has been given perfect clarity of sight about
reality. another learning of sight about reality.

Isaiah 61: 10
I never want to admit that there are evil thoughts dwelling in my mind. It’s
difficult to face my true self; and it’s even more difficult to face God. I
can’t help but feel tainted and broken in His presence. The sins that I commit
are real and are a part of my flesh but Christ is bigger than that. He has
clothed me with a “robe of righteousness” and is in the progress of cleansing
my heart. So rather than numbing my feelings, I hope to come and share them
with you Lord. Bring peace into my conflicted heart.
SUNDAY/SEPTEMBER 29

1 John 4:16 & 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
“God is love… And love is patient, love is kind… it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs… it always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.” I’ve been lost and unsure how to approach God for the past
couple of weeks. I’ve been struggling and sought for answers. I tried going to
church, to get to know people, to get on that spiritual-high bandwagon. It
didn’t work. I didn’t know why and I got frustrated. I continued to push
myself to be “spiritual”. And I just realized I missed the mark- by a long
shot. Because I was scared of losing sight of God, I let my thoughts get
clouded by my checklist to “be a good Christian”. Ironically, the more I
forced it, the farther away He felt. I felt hopeless. I couldn’t hear His
voice for some reason. But today, He spoke through these two verses. He gently
whispered to me that He’s still here for me in this very moment. He tenderly
reminded me that He will never give up on me and that He’s committed to me
forever. God is love.

Judges 9-12 It
is easy to look at Abimelech's actions and conclude, "I could never do
something like that!" But as I think for a moment about the subtle ways I can
use and abuse power: you know telling half-truths, being seen only with the
"right" people, using others as stairsteps to success. Now even though these
actions aren't as violent as Abimelech's, they still violate the spirit of
Christ's teaching(Matt 23:11). I took some time to look at the positive
principle from the life of Gideon
and the negative principle from the life of Abimelech, regarding how to
use the power and influence God has given me to bring glory to Him.
THURSDAY/SEPTEMBER 26
-Pastor Sam/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
2 Peter 2:22
"A dog returns to its vomit and a sow that is washed goes back to her
wallowing in the mud." We should know that sin is disgusting. It is like vomit
and mud that we should not return to. But how many times do I enjoy returning
to my sinful life? It just seems sweet and I got used to be around them. But
they are disgusting in the eyes of the Lord that we should wash ourselves and
shouldn't be back! I think about my habitual sins that I do not feel its
seriousness. I must pray because I cannot overcome such temptations. Lord,
please help me and our members in this ministry so that we will keep ourselves
holy from vomit-like and mud-like world.
-Kevin Kim/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Romans 8
Paul is convinced that because God loves us nothing can seperate anything
between us and him. He is all. No manly creation nor demons or angels can
split us between God. Its always Jesus Christ our Lord who pulls through so
don't fear.
-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Judges 6-8 Here comes Gideon, Israel's fifth judge, receives God's call
while hiding in a winepress secretly threshing wheat. Midians oppression is
indeed severe, and Gideon is God's man to lead the people in throwing off that
yoke of bondage-an assignment Gideon is not anxious to accept! You know
there's a saying, "Its not the size of the dog in the fight; its the size of
the fight in the dog that counts." I mean check this out in the Bible; David
vs Goliath, Moses vs Pharaoh, Joshua vs Jericho, Gideon vs Midian. You see in
Israel's case it can be said, "It's not the size of the army in the fight, but
the size of the God in the army!"

1 King 20:22-25
This verse is about Ahab's wars with Syria both sides prepare for continuation
of warfare in the spring the syrian preparations involve a reorganization for
the empire the replacement of the vassal kings with commanders directly
accountable to ben hadad the royal advisers seek greater military cohesion
through a great degree of political control. the syrians also raise a new army
to replace the one destroyed. we need to strengthen ourselves order to win the
battle. God is real he is active, he will be with us but at the same time we
need to be ready.
-Kevin Kim/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Mark 7
Jesus says that what comes out of us makes us sin. And that what comes into us
is clean. Therefore making food clean. So we have these impure and evil
thoughts in our minds and hearts that come out. We commit sin knowing and
forgetting God is watching. These impurities comes to us and mess with us and
mess us up. We have to not thinking about fixing the problems later but fixing
them now. Realize our issues now and fix them and not push them off like some
of us do.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
This is what is going to happen when in the last days. People will love
themselves, money, and will be boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their
parents... and lastly, they have a form of godliness but deny its power. If we
are one of them, we must repent with fearful heart. It is easy to see many
people like the list above because the last day is coming soon. So we should
be watchful rather than being comfortable in the world. I think this is the
passage I should make list of so that I can check my attitudes.

-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Judges 1-5 JUDGES!! The
ACTION PACK book! So it starts in spite of God's persistent commands and
Joshua's constant warnings, the people choose to accommodate, rather than
annihilate, the Canaanites, thereby surrounding themselves with godless and
immortal influences. Because of the nation's compromising attitude, God allows
neighboring powers to test Israel by war to find out if they will obey the
commandments of the Lord. Failing these tests, Israel settles into a downward
spiral spiritually, politically, and morally. You know before I moved to my
own place the one thing that I hated most was the weeds that grew on my
parents lawn. The worst part about it is weeding, an unpleasant chore that can
be accomplished in two ways: 1. by pulling out the weed, roots and all: or 2.
by looping off the weed at the ground level. Both methods appear to accomplish
the same purpose, but only one really works. You know for the
Israelites, the land of Canaan could be likened to a garden full of weeds. For
a while, the people diligently uprooted their enemies. But as time passed and
the recollection of God's urgent commands grew fuzzy to them. Man as I look at
the "garden" of my life, I see SOoOOoo much weeds that need pulling. Nagging
habits, more negative attitude. I have to resist the urge to "plow them
under," hoping they will disappear. Instead, deal with the root of the
problem.

1 Samuel 1:1-20
In verse 6 "The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave
and raises up" this bible verse touched me. we are already a part of his story
and we know that because we have moved from death to life through our
conversion/Christian. like God's mercy extends beyond Hannah and beyond Mary,
we have Messiah and Savior as well. get to be a part of God's greater purposes
as we become Christians. we sometimes fail but we also have to remember that
we are in God's story if we believe that failure becomes victory.
-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Joshua 22-24 After being commended for their faithful service in
conquering the land of Canaan, the warriors of the tribes east of the Jordan
are sent home. They recognize that the Jordan River (which pretty much forms a
natural barrier between the tribes) may one day form a spiritual barrier as
well. To prevent this, a memorial altar is built on the riverbank-an act
misunderstood and viewed with horror by the tribes west of the Jordan. Civil
war nearly breaks out before the real motives behind the altar are revealed.
You know Joshua wanted to to ensure that his people would continue following
the Lord wholeheartedly after his death. So he wove an incontrovertible
argument for his God by recalling numerous instances of His goodness to Israel
in the past, ending it with a personal exhortation to "CHOOSE for yourselves
who you will serve."
TUESDAY/SEPTEMBER 17
-Pastor Sam/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Ezekiel 21
This chapter is one of the most scary chapters of the Bible because it talks
about the judgment of God. God is patient and loving God. But it doesn't meant
that He waits forever. He gives us plenty chance of repentance. But if we
refuse to do so saying it is going to be ok, the day will be coming. It is
just like SAT. Some people do not get ready for the exam until it is almost
the time. But when they find out that it is late, it is too late. They have to
get ready for the exam in advance. This is the same thing for the judgment.
How long will you refuse God's holy calling and invitation into intimacy with
Him? He called us as His people into His Kingdom but many times we live as if
we still belong to the world. It is not too late yet because He gave us
another new day. Brothers and sisters. Let us remember our Lord and get ready
for the day before it is too late.
-David Rhim/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
1 Samuel 1-5
1Samuel tells the history of the Israel in the land of Canaan as they move
from the rule of judges to being a unified nation under kings. Samuel emerges
as the last judge, and he anoints the first two kings, Saul and David. there
are two sections that are important life of Samuel and life of Saul. no matter
how great our ministry but obedience to God's word must always be our top
priority.
-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Joshua 18-21
So here we are at last, the task of dividing and distributing the land is
complete. You know it kind of bothered me that Joshua would leave such an
important matter as the partitioning of the land to the "chance" roll of the
dice. Then I remember that in Bible times God often made His will known in the
casting of lots(Lev 16:8, 1 Sam 10:19-21; Jonah 1:7; Acts 1:15-26). Noticing
the repeated phrase "before the Lord" in 18:6, 8, 10. This was no accidental
division of the land but a public acknowledgement that God's will extended
even to the parceling of the land. I know God;s will for my life today can be
known with just as much certainty as Joshua enjoyed thousands of years ago.
Heres a simple rule for me: to have no will but GOD's.

Gideon was a warrior of God. He trusted the Lord and humbled himself. But in
today's passage, he starts treating his enemies as if he is the subject of the
wars not mentioning about the mighty hands of God. He was deceiving himself as
if he never needed the guidance of God. Sometimes I also do the same thing. I
forget about the One who made me and led me up to this point of my life. I
tend to glorify myself instead of the name of God who was always with me and
the subject of my life. I am who I am by the grace of God alone and today I
want to keep getting reminded of this simple but the most genuine truth.

CALEB! Now here is a man of whom it is said THREE times in SEVEN verses that
he "WHOLLY" followed the Lord. Caleb knew what it meant to claim the promises

Ruth 1-4
It teaches that genuine love at times may require uncompromising sacrifice.
regardless of our lot in life we can live according to the precepts of God.
the genuine love and kindness will be rewarded in the future. God aboundantly
blesses those who seek to live obedient lives. obedient living does not allow
for accidents in God's plan. God extends mercy to the merciful. like Ruth, she
is worthy important to live obedient life.
-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Joshua 9-12 In many ways, Joshua's military strategy is dictated more by
the actions of his enemies than by his own plans. Here chapter 9 when faced
with the unexpected problem of Gibeon, the leaders of Israel responded in
immature independence. "We can handle this one on our own. No need to consult
God about such an elementary matter. After all, we've made tougher decisions
than THIS before!" The foolish peace pact with Gibeon, made without consulting
God, was based on false appearances and decieving words. In the years ahead it
would be a source of heartache to Israel. Man I have made soooo many decisions
without giving God a single thought. I GOT TO talk to him FIRST. God delights
in guiding those who acknowledge their need of Him. Thats from Proverbs 3:5-6.
And the consequences of ignoring Him can't be ignored.

Joshua 6-8 Joshua employs a textbook strategy for military victory: HA HA
"DIVIDE AND CONQUER!" He attacks the middle of the country first, dividing the
enemy forces in half, before mopping up resistance among the isolated troops
in the south and north. His stunning victory at Jericho shows the importance
of following God's directions down to the smallest detail, no matter how
trivial they may seem! The lesson is painfully reinforced at Ai, where
disobedience leads to defeat and death. But after disciplining His
overconfident people, God patiently encourages them and leads them to victory
in the rematch with Ai.

-Paul Lee/BIBLE CHALLENGE LOG:
Joshua 1-5 SO FINALLY Moses has died, and Joshua is appointed by God to
take the reins of leadership. The people are poised within view of the land
promised to their ancestors and denied their unbelieving parents. The time has
come to cross OVER, conquer, and POSSESS! But will they succeed where their
fathers failed? You know God specializes in dry sandals. He loves to start
with an impossible situation in your life....and then do the impossible. When
the nation of Israel approached the Jordan, God demanded a step of obedience
before they could cross. The priests, like drum majors leading a three million
member marching band, had to hike to the brink of the flood-swollen Jordan and
take that first step into the water. Then-and only then would God perform a
miracle, roll back the waters, dry up the puddles, and send the people across,
kicking up dust at every step! Dry sandals followed trusting obedience. Gosh
where in my life is God waiting for me to take that first step of faith?
Something remember: God will lead you to no waters He cannot part, no brink He
cannot cross, no pain He cannot bear.

1 Pet 2:22-25
By His wounds you have been healed. This is the core message of the gospel.
Sometimes I have hard times in my life. They are something only I know
personally. When it happens I feel like I am punished by God. I sometimes feel
like He is angry at me. This morning was just like that. I felt sinful and
miserable. But when i read the passage above, I was speechless. This is what
Christ did for me. If I were punished by God for my sins, I was to be treated
like trash. But Jesus replaced my position. He was treated like less than
trash on the cross. By His wounds, I have been healed. For me. This is
amazing. Why did He do that? This morning was graceful because my heart was
filled with joy for the truth that Christ died instead of me. What He did is
more than anything. Having that confidence, I want to please Him even more for
what He had done for me such a sinner. I praise God for His wonderful grace.

Deuteronomy
31-34
So check this out; there are fair-weather friends-the kind who flock to you
when everything is going right, and disappear when things start going wrong.
But then there are the foul-weather friends-the kind who cling to you when
things are going badly, and ignore you when everything is running smoothly.
You see, "foul-weather friends," is a PERFECT description of the children of
Israel. During their times of need in the wilderness, Israel followed after
God despite occasional grumblings and rebellions. But God warned the nation
that coming prosperity would bring indifference toward Him. When the Promised
Land was conquered and occupied, the nation would abandon God for idols. I
want to ask YOU GUYS(whoevers reading this); when you're face to face with a
crisis, it's natural to cry out to God for help. But what about when things
are running smoothly?? When the wind is at your back....your health is

Deuteronomy
27-30
Moses has now come to a solemn, climactic moment in his address to the
nation-the time for a recommitment of the people to the covenant. He reminds
the new wilderness generation that the potential for God's richest blessing
awaits them in the land, as well as the potential for His severest judgment.
It all depends on their submissive response to the demands of the covenant.
Dramatically Moses delivers the challenge: "I have set before you life and
death....choose life." "I WISH I WERE DEAD!" You know I have vented my
frustration with these exact words plenty of times at an unguarded moment of
despair or shame. But I know deep down that I didn't really mean them
literally. You know MOST of people want to live! In fact, they will do just
abour anything to preserve their life. But that strong survival instinct
doesnt always carry over into the spiritual realm. Moses made the choice
transparently clear for Israel with these two simple(and unalterable)
formulas: OBEDIENCE=LIFE, DISOBEDIENCE=DEATH. For myself, like Israel, can
choose a deathlike lifestyle by rebelling against God's will. Or by obeying I
can choose life-and daily fellowship with the God of life.

I've made a day's worth of regrets and mistakes. I already know if I come to
God and earnestly reflect, apologize and make the effort to change, He
forgives. But I guess these days I've been too "busy" getting hung up over my
sins. I realize that God knows what I've done and who I am but I just can't
help but be scared to face Him sometimes. I'm embarrassed because I fall for
the same temptations. I ran away from Him and was losing His voice. I started
chasing things to cover up my guilt and replace God's love that making a
gaping hole in my heart. I fell pretty deep. But God is good and makes me face
Him. When I do, He never fails to remind me how much He loves me. And just
like that, God frees me from the chains Satan shackled me in. God made the
mountains of doubts disappear and replaced them with comfort and peace. God is
simply amazing. I want to love and trust Him more...

Moses' second sermon begins in ch5 and extends through ch26, and he opens with
a repetition of the Ten Commandments and exhorts the people to obey the Lord
from a heart of love, to teach their children obedience, and to be careful not
to forget the Lord in times of prosperity. You know reading today's section, I
was reminded of the fairy tale about the goose that laid the golden egg. If
you have no idea what I'm talking about look it up. Its pretty much about a
farmer discovering a golden-egg-laying goose. And because the farmer was so
impatient/sick and tired to wait for the daily quota of eggs, he chops off the
goose's head to find the source of the eggs....and obviously it ends with him
destroying the very source of his prosperity. There are soooo many times when
I scream out, "I WANT IT ALL-AND I WANT IT NOW!!" This is pretty much the cry
of the Israels at that time, and Christians today. You see God's ways is not
RUSH RUSH RUSH but little by little.

preaching can make us uncomfortable! It shows us from God's word where we are

godly persuasion as he points out to the people the past, present, and future

SO during the FINAL days of his life, Moses is active in at least three

travel agent, bringing the people to the plains of Moab. The Israelite army,
using only a small token force of troops, takes out Midian. Then he deals with
all these request by different tribes; that they be allowed to settle east of
the Jordan. And then the chapter ends with a travel route from Egypt to Moab.
I think these two chapters is both one of the darkest and one of the brightest
chapters in the Bible. It is a dark chapter because it chronicles the journey
from Egypt to Moab-a journey that should have take WEEKS! Instead it takes 4
DECADES!! Which also means the lives an ENTIRE GENERATION. But at the same
time its not all dark...it also portrays the nations movements under the
watchful eye of God. The people experienced God's tender care daily, even as
they felt the sting of His discipline. The questions for me is do I view God's
discipline in my life as "pain with a purpose?" I know God loves me too much

What does it mean when we say that God is sovereign? Pretty much it means that
God is ultimately in control. Nothing happens without His permission. Now even
though God is sovereign, it is also true that God allows us to exercise and
have our free will. God actually respects the free will of mankind. Some
people think that mankind will solve all its problems. They are stupid enough
to believe that a politician can fix things . . . or technology . . . or
psychology . . . or a focus on ecology. But it isn’t politics or psychology or
technology or ecology that will fix it. It is only theology, the study of
God.I know I need to turn to God completely. One day the Lord will right all
the wrongs in our universe. He will take this sin-sick infested world and turn
it right side up. Today its just absolutely upside down. Everything is
topsy-turvy. What once was perceived as good is now viewed as bad. What was
once thought of as bad is now being elevated to a position of good. But one
day it will be made right. God will right all of the wrongs. God won’t abandon
His creation; He will restore it. Christ has not yet established His kingdom
on this earth, but one day he will return to our planet and bring it back to
its Eden-like state. Known as the Millennium, it will last for one thousand

Jesus Christ, the son of God, ascends to heaven. Before his ascension, Jesus
gives his disciples this command "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the
gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John
baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." The
apostles obey this command. The apostles ask the Lord about the kingdom's
restoration to Israel, a question about the future. The Lord replies that this
question cannot be answered to them, for the Father has everything set in his
own authority. They will receive the power, everything they need once they are
blessed with the Holy Spirit. With this, Jesus ascends to heaven and the
apostles witness this with their very own eyes. What I felt was really
important in this chapter was how Jesus replies to the apostles concerning the
future of Israel. God, the father, has everything planned and ready for us
already. In times of distress or trouble, we immediately try to look for
answers, what is in the future for us after such times. While we desperately
struggle for answers during these times, we already know the only answer we
NEED to know, the fact that God has everything planned for us already. We are
in his care, God has intended such hardships and that's all that's matters.

chose to stay in the other land. Then what happened? His daughter Dinah got
raped in the land which made Jacob's sons kill all the men in the land. Jacob
messed up. It motivated him to leave the land and head toward the homeland
where God called him to go. What is the lesson here? I know what God wants me

Ownership is always a sensitive issue. People are born with an innate desire
to possess. You have heard kids go, "THAT'S MINE!!" Though adults usually tend
to be more civilized about it, you'll find the same sentiment voices
repeatedly: "I WANT WHAT'S MINE!" You see God recognized this tendency in His
people and instituted the year of Jubilee to help teach them a crucial
spiritual truth. Every 50 yrs, all land that had been sold was to be returned
to the original owner. And every acre of land was to remain uncultivated in
order to remind the nation that the land belonged not to them but to God. You
see he would give it to them, and they would enjoy it-not as owners but as
aliens and tenants. This gives me the time to think of how I view my
possessions. And a big question comes up; Do I hold on to them tightly, or
have I recognized them as something graciously "loaned" to me by God? Oh gosh

Deuteronomy 22
Although it’s been repeated that the Levites didn’t have any land-inheritance,
it didn’t sink in until I began to see all the other Israelites get their
share of land. The Levites had God as their inheritance. They were always
serving in the name of God. They worked hard and lived off the certain
offerings made to God. Today’s Levites (ministers, pastors, leaders) put so
much effort and time into the ministry. When was the last time I thanked God
for what He has blessed our church with? When was the last time I thanked PS
for coming out every Thursday evening for the leaders to build up our
Spiritual foundation? I want to be more aware of how much everyone contributes
despite the inconveniences and be grateful for what they do.

2 Chronicles 32:7-8
Strength is an appealing characteristic. Strong wills. Strong arms. Strong
jaws. Strong emotions. I admire them all. I love movies with strong heroes. I
watch football with strong athletes. I look up to strong leaders. Yet it's
easy for me to compare my own motivations, muscles and minds with others who
appear strong, and feel quite INSIGNIFICANT and WEAK in the comparison. I
whisper things in my heart that no one hears. If only I were that strong..I'd
say no to the temptations...I'd follow my passion in ministry to make a
difference in the church...I'd go and be a successful person in life...I'd be
the brother, oppa, hyung, friend I KNOW I could be to others. Then reality
washes over me like a splash of ice water, waking me from my daydream with an
unpleasant start. Back to MY weaknesses that seem destined to chain me to a
resigned life. Bad habits, damaged relationships, unfulfilled dreams...you
know that's my life...just a darn despairing heart. *sigh For most of my life,
I've battled feeling weak in certain areas, while strong in others. And my
inconsistencies frustrate me. And then I read stories like this of Hezekiah,
king of Judah in 2 Chronicles 32. And you know here in verses 7 and 8 speak
truth that's worth repeating today: "'Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with
him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the
arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our
battles.' And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of
Judah said." It's so easy for me to forget there is a source of strength
available to me every moment of every day. It's free of charge. There is no
"closed" sign in the window of heaven. And I don't get a recording when I call
for help. God's strength is available. That doesn't mean tomorrow I'll be able
to run a marathon; it's not that kind of strength. But as I ponder the type of
strength God promises, a clue is found in the word "confidence." Confidence
not in myself, but in God's ability to effectively deal with any challenge I'm
currently facing. As I've learned to turn to God for His strength, I've
experienced the courage to press on in situations when my flesh wants to give
up. I've experienced hope when relationships seem dead. I've experienced peace
when fear threatens to overtake me.We serve a God of unlimited power, and yet
it's so easy to forget and rely on our own imperfect strength.

Leviticus
1-3 WaH WahH! The start of Leviticus here I go! And it starts with the
tabernacle COMPLETED. God now gives Moses instructions regarding the five
types of sacrifices that would be offered in the tabernacle. But you
see-animal sacrifices, so essential to Old Testament worship, ceased with
Christ once-for-all-time sacrifice on the cross. Yet Peter tells us that all
believers are priests who should continually offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God. So instead of a whole burnt offering, we can offer our body
as "living sacrifice..unto God"(Rom 12:1). Back then they gave sweet savor
offerings as well as nonsweet and burnt. It just reminds me of what I should
continue to do in my life and do more and better: to commit each part of my
body to God's service(living sacrifice), sharing publicly God's goodness in my
life(sacrifice of praise), and helping others with my possessions and
time(acceptable sacrifice).

Exodus 35-40 Here in the last chapters of Exodus we see Moses setting
forth the plan for constructing and raising up the tabernacle. Then we see the
performance of that plan as Moses' instructions are carried out to the letter,
making the tabernacle a reality. You see the main point that I read here is
that the requirement was 100 percent COMPLIANCE. It's like...baking a cake.
You gotta follow the recipe to the letter and you get a delicious "SARA/JC/JK"
dessert. But then if you omit some ingredients or instructions and you're
gonna get a "PAUL'S CULINARY CATASTROPHE!!" You know when it comes to holiness
or obedience, halfway measures will not do! You are not to love the Lord with
MOST of your heart, a PORTION of your soul, and a tithe of your MIND. There's
just a lot of areas in my life where I have become halfhearted and sloppy. I
know that my life is an ongoing construction, and as God's temple it demands
no less care than the building of Israel's tabernacle if my life is to radiate
His glory and bear witness of His name to the community or the people around
me. Especially around the people in the FBL ministry.

drive across town and back, I’m out of gas, I’m out of money blah, blah, blah.
But there are definitely more days when everything is rather…ordinary. It’s
just another regular day. Yet, I don’t appreciate it until something goes
wrong. Just like Israel. Israel had been walking for 40 years and yet their
clothes didn’t wear out nor did their feet blister. But they didn’t pay
attention to that, instead complained and dwelled on the negative things that
were happening to them. It’s so easy to forget the quiet blessing God gives us
everyday. I want to stop taking these things for granted.

OOoOOoh man while Moses receives God's laws on the mountain, the Israelites
are getting BUSSSYY on the plains below. Concluding that their leader has died
in the presence of God, they fashion their gold jewelry into a replica of an
Egyptian god and turn the camp into a grotesque, unholy, unbelievable pagan
party. Moses returns and in righteous anger shatters the two stone tablets,
destroys the golden calf, and orders the Levites to purge the camp of the
guilty Israelites. You know could it be that this golden calf episode is also
a 15th-century b.c. parable of a 21st century a.d. phenomenon? I have to
remember to seek God out thru prayer, and seek him with love and understanding
that I will wait on him. It may take longer than I want. When God is ready to
move upon my life, it will be the right time and the right place. I should
never have to worry or wonder when God will come back. God said he would never
leave us. And actually I know He's here today waiting for myself to ask him to
lead, guide and direct me in my life.

they put Paul and Silas in jail. And in jail God had a violent earthquake

kill himself because he thought the prisoners escaped but none of them didn't
because they knew it was wrong. With that Paul told the jailer to sheath his
sword and to not harm himself because no one escaped. This shows that the
jailer saw the faith Paul and Silas had and wanted to change himself into a

fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." If I am
willing to win this game, I must watch and pray because the spiritual strength

When Jesus comes back, He will separate his sheep from goats. Sheep represents

lived out their love and faith in Jesus on the earth. They call Jesus "the
Lord" but they never followed what Jesus did. It was heartless and inactive,
dead faith. Today's passage especially emphasize on taking care of those who
are weak and lonely. To take care of them is to take care of Jesus. It reminds
me of the passage Colossians 3:23. It says "whatever you do, work at it with
all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." When I see whoever I

Apart from the symbolism found in the tabernacle, the significance? The
tabernacle represented God come to dwell among men and women, the beacon of
God's presence here among His people. And also, the priests role was to
act as a go-between, a bridge-builder...someone who can stand on behalf of
sinful mankind before a holy God. But in the NEW TESTAMENT there is a
beautiful blending of these two themes. Where does God dwell today? Within us
who have dedicated and turned our lives over to Him. And WHO has he called to
be priests today, bringing sinful back to their holy God??? The very ones He
indwells. US!! We are both the tabernacle God indwells, and the priest God
empowers to call men and women back to Himself. AWESOME RIGHT!?! We have a

he was because if you were a prophet back in the day you came from high
background and whatnot. But Jesus came into the world modest and humble unlike

faith in him. Which is why Jesus did not perform miracles there in his own

Exodus 16-18 When Israel left Egypt, there were two things the people
could do well: make bricks, and complain. They now develop the latter ability
to a fine art. As supplies decrease, complaints increase. When their resources
run out, God supplies manna, quail, and water in abundance to demonstrate that
He is now their reliable source of supply. Start with a basic, two door sedan
loaded with luggage. As father, mother, and three children under the age of
10. Aim the car at a destination 500 miles down the road. After 350 miles have
passed, examine the scene. What shape is the "traveling circus" in now?
Magnify that basic situation 600,000 times over, move it back some 3500 years,
and you begin to understand Moses' predicament in Exodus 16. The thrill of
freedom and the excitement of the Exodus were soon erased by the discomforts
of travel. Gratitude went right OUT the door and grumbling remained during the
long desert trek, and you know what..I catch myself complaining the SAME way
when things don't go as I think they should. Moses said, "...you havent been
complaining to us, you've been complaining to God!"(16:8) So I think one of
the best indicators of my love for God is a contented spirit that expresses in
itself in thanksgiving.

up in my spam folder. These darn obnoxious messages that try to trick me into
sending money or personal information to some unknown source. You guys do know
all spam email follows the same design. First, they open up by preying on a
person’s fear, insecurity, or general discontent. After that, they propose a
simple solution, an easy win or VICTORY for the reader, which convinces us to
put our trust in something very untrustworthy and sketchy.
Thankfully, most computers now comes with some sort of software to filter out
these derpy emails. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for everyday life
for me. I’ve found Satan often using the same tactics as these spam mails
whenever he wants to attack me. First, he takes advantage of my worries, my
self-image, my pride, or something else in my life. Then he offers me
something that might fix the problem, but in truth, only makes things worse.
These temptations will always be present in my life, but Jesus offers me a
powerful reassurance in Matthew 6 that equips me to defend myself which I
won't share in here. So look it up yourself. Heh. Anyways...as I read Matt 6,
I realized that many people have taken this verse to mean that as long as we
trust in God, nothing bad will happen. NOT SO PEOPLE! We live in a fallen
world, and bad things are always going to happen. What this verse does promise
is that no matter what we face in life, God will always be there. Sometimes in
the healing we desperately prayed for, other times in the shoulder we cry on.
Whatever road my life will take, Christ is there to provide for me. I got to
NOT allow Satan to fool me with these fake offer of an easy fix, and not

Israelites left Egypt, they were like a large band of children, not knowing

no matter what. For example, they listen to their parents as long as they like
them. They know to humble themselves. Do I like and respect my heavenly
father? Yes. Then do I enjoy Him and like to listen to Him because I trust
Him? I am not humble enough to lay down my will before God whom I love and
respect. I may think of myself being mature enough but I'm actually not. I
need His guidance and help. I should be humble. I like to reflect on this
passage for coming days as well and try to exercise humbleness before my

Wheewww with his loooong period of deser exile drawing to a close, Moses
becomes God's choice to lead the people out of bondage. When confronted by God
in the burning bush, Moses is far from convinced he is the right man for the
job. But once his objection have been answered, Moses goes forth to take on
Pharaoh armed with all that supernatural signs. True to God's prediction
Pharaoh not only refuses to let the people go but increases their labors as
well. As the people react with anger, God responds with assurance that His
nation will indeed be redeemed. Now if I put myself in Moses shoes...or
sandals, encountering Pharaoh, delivering the message God gave me, and instead
of making things better, I only make them worse! As I then watch helplessly as
Pharaoh increases the burden on my people. Man my RESPONSE?? Frustration,
depression, guilt, cry like a baby. And you know what that's how I've felt so
many times in my life. Even today I feel like I'm only making things worse.
But got to remember God's fresh revelation of Himself-who He is, what He has
done in the past, and what HE promises to do in the future-should be as much
of encouragement to me as it was to Moses. God's promises are grounded in
God's character. That's all Moses needed to know, and it's also all I need to

"I AM" that drowns out our weak "I CAN'T.""

Acts 16
Paul was trying to enter Bithynia to preach the gospel. But there must have
been some issues that he couldn't enter. Bithynia could be one of the places
Paul planned to go. But he couldn't make it because the Spirit of Jesus
wouldn't let him in. Jesus rather showed him a vision of a man of Macedonia
and Paul realized that Jesus wants him to go to Macedonia. So he went there
preached the gospel and many people were saved. I have my plan for my life.
But it doesn't go in that way. Sometimes I am frustrated. But I should
remember that the Spirit of Jesus does lead my life for His sake. Wherever I
go, I want to follow Him. I want to find out His will in the place where I am
and do what I am supposed to do. Today is Sunday. I will serve His church as
best as I can.

Exodus

Moses learned patience in the desert as he tended sheep. Unknown to him, God
was using those years as part of a high, complex program. To prepare Moses for
shepherding a much larger flock-the nation of Israel. Only when Moses was
truly ready did God appear to him in the burning bush and send him back to
Egypt. God's patience-building process may seem agonizingly slow to me, but I
got to remember that my response to God's teaching or tutoring is all
important. How fast am I learning the lessons I need to master in order to be
ready for greater service when He calls? Father God, because You want to use
me in a significant way, please help me to learn the lesson in patience You
have set before me today as I continue to do your ministry here at FBL/FKPCO.

Numbers 2-5
Numbers really talks about numbers (lol). The Israelites’ men tallied up to
603,550; and this is excluding the Levites. This means including women and
children, the Israelites were a group of well over a million people! To think
that God, through Moses and Aaron, was able to bring order is absolutely
incredible. It’s clear that God knows what He’s doing!

Genesis 11
I was just refreshed about the tower of Babylon and reminded me of how God is
in control. When humans seek to become like God's equal that becomes sin but
when you try to become like him its a different story. God did not want humans
to have an idea of becoming great so what he did as many know is create
different languages to disperse the people and stop them from working
together. So that is why folks we have multiple languages because of Gods
decision to stop humans from further sin.

Genesis 48-50
ALRIGHT!! CONCLUSION OF GENESIS!! The FINAL acts of Jacob and Joseph, along
with their deaths and burials. You know I wish my life can count more for
God...that I could have more of an impact for good in the lives of those
around me? I've been plodding along serving in ministry and faithfully, yet
there are time when I feel like nothing much ever seems to come of it. In fact
there are so, so, so, soooo many times when I wanted to throw in the spiritual
towel. But from reading this and all of Genesis I am reminded that God's plan
is larger then any one person...even myself. In an amazing way He weaves
together the lives of many different people to accomplish His will. I believe
Joseph is a good example. Torn from his family, ill-treated and imprisoned, he
later emerges as ruler in Egypt. And why? Check it out, 'Joseph replied,
“Don’t be afraid. Do I act for God? Don’t you see, you planned evil against me
but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right
now—life for many people. Easy now, you have nothing to fear; I’ll take care
of you and your children.” He reassured them, speaking with them heart-to-heart(MESS).'
Joseph's family and the entire nation of Egypt soon owed their survival to
Joseph's leadership. God use me like this. Use me to touch that life with a
smile, a kind word, a thoughtful act. Use me for good.

Leviticus 27
There have been a handful of times when I had promised God that I would do
something or change. Yes, I was serious at the time I made the commitment but
then after a while I got lazy and backed out of my promise. After reading this
chapter I see that God takes our promises seriously. I need to learn to NOT
retract my rash and unrealistic promises, even if it turns out to be more than
I expected. When I make a promise, I want to follow in God’s example; I want
to be able to keep it.

Jesus quote the prophesy of Isaiah about religious leaders whose life was
looked nice but heartless: "these people honor me with their lips, but their
hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules
taught by men." Well.. what about me? I live as a Christian. But does that
mean that my heart is close to God? I would say that I love and enjoy Him but
does my life style prove it? I often enjoy and love other things more. What
about this ministry? People don't talk about God and their relationship with
Him but other things. They still come to church every Sunday singing I will
follow you, I love you Lord. I confess that I often make the same mistake.
Maybe I am busy for many things which bother me focusing on Him. I would
separate 1 hour today to hang out with my Father who loves me and gave me
everything. He is awesome God and I pray that everyone here would also know it
and get closer to Him.

The Festival of First fruits required that the first crops be given to God.
This was the Israelites’ expression of gratitude. Though it was in the back of
my head of how late I am on posting these Bible Challenges, I didn’t think too
much of it until after reading through this Scripture. I just realized that
I’m often giving God my “leftovers” of my day (1am-4am). God means so much
more than my T.V. shows and doodling time; and yet I haven’t really showed
that to Him. I want to be willing to sacrifice as much as the Israelites did.
God, I want to offer the best of what I can give to You every day.

God talks about how rainbows are the great promises he makes. Gods promises
are special because he always keeps them. And when God promised that he would

promises are the best. When we rely on others to keep promises we get
disappointed if they aren't kept. So we should realize and read the bible to
hear of Gods great things he has said and his promises he will keep for us. He
said Jesus would come and he will God does not lie or go back on his word. He
is like Naruto he will never go back on his word. Just something I wanted to

Genesis 45-47
Into the court of the most powerful king on earth hobbled an old man dressed
in this rough garb of a tent dweller. Pharaoh was granting an audience to
Jacob out of respect for Joseph. And Jacob, the seemingly insignificant old
man, blessed the king! Pharaoh didn't know it, but he was being blessed by
none other than ISREAL, the prince of God. For all his supposed importance,
Pharaoh would subsequently fade into oblivion. Yet this old shepherd would
continue to occupy a place of honor throughout the centuries. God's people
would be called the "children of Israel," and God would identify Himself then
on as "the God of Jacob." From Jacob's line would come the King of Kings, who
"shall reign over the house of Jacob forever." You know appearances can be
deceiving. I may NOT look like a V.I.P. in everybody's eyes or even in the
eyes of the world. But you know what....I think I am. My importance, like
Jacob's, does not stem from what I have made of myself, but what CHRIST has
made of me. As I stated on an earlier log that I must stay loyal to Him and
His conviction. Then live out my identity today as His child, a child of the
King! Oh yEAaAAa! SoOoOo GOoOoooD!

I stare at the long list and I end up stalling or complaining about all the
tasks and problems I have to address. This habit has made its way into my
spiritual life too. When God asks me to keep His commands, to do what He says,
I sit there and rant about how much I don’t want to do it. I need to stop
disobeying Him and LIVE THE WAY HE TELLS ME. I want and need more of His

Genesis 41-44
There had yet to be a truly "secret sin." For years, Joseph's brothers had
lived with their cunning deception of Jacob. The secret was so complete that
Jacob probably blamed himself for the loss of his favorite son. And the other
sons, though seeing the agony of soul experienced by their father, maintained
their conspiracy of silence at his expense. BUT they overlooked one witness to
their crime-GOD. God gave them time to set things right on their own. Then He
applied pressure. The result was a band of frightened men who seemed to be
haunted by the memory of their lost brother. Guilt, anxiety, and uncertainty
were their constant companions until their wrong was set right through
confession and restoration. As sinners before God, we have two choices. We can
carry the anxiety of our "secret" sins until God chooses to expose them. Or
you can confess those sins to God and to those we've wronged. Because of
Christ's death, we can take those steps.

God wants us to listen to everything and detail he says. For example Noah
obeyed everything he said before the flood and as a result survived the storm.
He had complete faith to build a huge ark for him and the animals but to also
believe in God that he would also believe that the world will become dry and
that he could start over. This teaches us that even with mistakes in our path
we can make changes to make a better future. It's possible to start over like
tabula rasa. A clean slate is possible and making different decisions and
choices can lead you into a more fruitful and spiritual life.

Genesis 13
Lot was Abram's nephew. They lived together and both became rich. Now they
can't stay together so they decided to separate. Abram gave Lot the first
shot. Lot looked around and saw the beautiful cities Sodom and Gomorrah. He
knew that the cities were not safe place to keep his faith because they were
corrupted. But it looked so nice that he decided to stay there. Abram decided
to stay at the land of Canaan instead because he believed that Canaan was the
promised land even though the place wasn't so nice. Here is one simple
question. Do I follow my sight or faith? What is the will of God in my life at
this place at this time? Do I live by the Word of God or by experience and
sense of mine? Circumstances change always but His promise stands everlasting.
Then my direction should be simple. I will follow Him so His word. I will do
what the Scripture tells me to do with prayer and obedience. Today I once
again give my commitment to Him. My life is not mine but his who loved me and
gave his life for me.

Acts 7
Stephen in the bible is preaching about what happened in the portion of
history everyone is familiar in. Abraham, Joseph, and Moses. He then goes to
talk about how God was with all of them all the time. God is someone who is
always with us watching us and taking care of us. Everyone has our lonely
periods in our lives. Mine being when my dad left for Korea but I did not know
then that God could help me so much like now. But it just feels amazing to
have someone who is always there for you. It might be hard to realize because
God is not tangible but God is engraved in our hearts souls and minds. Not
only that God performs some crazy things. For example when Stephen preached
the truth everyone was angry and furious at him and proceeded to stone him.
But Stephen saw God and he knew he had made the right decision. And he said
something similar to what Jesus said in his death "Lord, do not hold this sin
against them" Jesus' version "Father forgive them for they do not know what
they do" A cool similarity but as Stephen said that it doesn't say he died but
it says he fell asleep.

Leviticus 11-15
God tells the Israelites to distinguish themselves from the people of this
world. He tells them to label things from food to infections, clean or
unclean. And with the unclean they are not to even touch them! They are to be
completely separated. Yet here I am, constantly flirting with temptations.
Sure, I’m not “technically” committing a sin, but I’ve been hanging by a
thread. I swing back and forth between sides of clean and unclean when God
says to stay clear of all sin and temptations. It’s time for me to stay on one
side. I need to cut the sin out of my life.

Genesis 37-40
I've heard myself a long time ago saying something like, "I know some of the
things I do to be accepted by my friends are wrong. But if I don't go along,
they'll never accept me into their circle, or even get close to being a close
friend." You know Joseph could relate to that statement. He learned firsthand
the consequences of doing what was right. He could have avoided much
discomfort by deciding to disobey his father or give in to Mrs. Potiphar.
Loyalty to his convictions carried a price tag. This has been something I have
been struggling with before and greatly now. Losing so many friends, good and
close friends that still as "Christians" live a worldly life, and in return I
am faced to make the ultimate decision to either compromise or be loyal to
God's convictions. And so many times even recently I chose to be loyal. But
still there are areas in my life where I still do compromise which threatens
to dull the cutting edge of my faith. Like Joseph there was a price tag for
his loyalty to God, and for me the price tag have been the people that were
once beside me. But Josephs faithfulness had its MAJOR compensations too and
the "Lord was with Joseph." Oh God give me the courage to continue to stand
true to you with love and tact.

This passage talks about the power of prayer. Peter was in jail waiting for

the people were praying, they don't believe if it was Peter. It was only a
little girl who believed that God saved Peter. The other believers believed so
when they opened the door and saw his face. Maybe it's my story as well. How
much faith do I have when I pray? Do I really believe that God is going to do
amazing things through my prayer? Then why do I not pray more? Then why do I
worry so much? Today I am going to put some emergent prayer request on my
journal and will pray for them. I pray that God will do great things.

I dislike how people enjoy bragging the good they do and whatnot. Its a good
thing to do but if you show it off its arrogance and announcing to the world
you did something good. God commands that secrets in his presence are better

humbleness in secret will be given rewards from God. Not only is it in things

did prayer vs bragging it. We have to realize that God watches us and knows
what we do and that we should do things in humbleness and secret.

It bothers me to listen to God because sometimes His word doesn't seem making

"Who is a God like

Micah 7:18
*sigh* is it wrong for me to be angry? In other words, is anger a strictly
negative emotion, and always an expression of sin?? I have been asking these
questions for sooo long, for a very long time. And you know I've always known
the answer; ITS NOT. Anger is a natural human emotion; a facet of the warning
system God has built into our bodies to alert us of problems and prompt us to
positive, problem-solving actions. I also believe, anger isn't an expression
of sin. Jesus, the sinless Son of God, the perfect man, expressed anger at
several points in His ministry. Jesus' anger is perhaps most clearly seen when
He drove the moneychangers out of the Temple in Matt 21 and Mark 11. I
know that it's usually not my anger that gets me in trouble. It's what I do
with my anger-where and how I direct it that I so often regret. Yesterday I
thought that by re-directing my anger towards others instead of the ones who
caused the anger would be the right way to go. I vented my anger on Anna and
Pastor Sam yesterday thinking they would help extinguish that anger from
within me, but instead the way I directed it towards them only caused them to
stress and hurt. I thank them both for being in my life to keep me accountable
and I apologize to both of them for my most USUAL attitude. You know the Bible
doesn't say, "Don't get angry." But it does say, "Be slow to anger." I always
have to check myself and consider what anger in my life is natural and
healthy, which is sinful and destructive, and how best to direct my
"DESTRUCT-O BEAM ANGER."

Last chapter of Exodus! And you finally see a resolve for the Israelites. In

to our story with God and what He does for us. We were a slave to sin, but

AM I LIT??/1 John 1:5-7
You know I really must ask myself; Do I
carry the light of God wherever I go? I mean do people at church or the
brothers and sisters in FBL see the light of the glory of God in what I say,
in what I do, in where I go, and in all that makes up my life? A child of God
that's filled with God and, therefore is filled with His light. Right?
As I continue to the best I can to walk in the light of God by the presence of
the Holy Spirit Who lives in me, people will indefinitely look at my life. Do
they see the light of Jesus? Does my presence at home, church or in the
workplace make things better, clearer, or darker? Am I lit? Just thinking
about this for just this few minutes I realize that I must abide in the fact
that I am “in Christ” by the Holy Spirit and Christ is “in me.”

FINALLY!! The climax of more than 20 faith-stretching years for Abraham and
Sarah comes in the birth of Isaac, their miracle son and heir. But soon
Abraham's faith is tested again as God calls upon him to sacrifice that
treasured son upon an altar. Abraham obeys, showing that the experience of the
past two decades have not been in vain. For his faithfulness to the point of
death, God rewards Abraham with further assurance of blessing. You know I've
always wished for a "timer" that would tell me exactly when God was going to
fulfill His promises in my life. You know a way to tell with assurance when my
prayer would be answered. Abraham must have wished for a timer as well
on many occasions as he waited year after year for the son God had promised to
give him. But in the birth of Isaac God demonstrated that, though His promises
may not come speedily, they will come certainly.

for us then who could ever stop us and if our God is with us then what could
stand against." We learn in these lyrics how God is just a great force to be
recognized and feared. I want God to back me up because no one can testify as
well as he does. His authority is the best. And it is also said God will back

You know God promised Abraham and Sarah a son. At first, that may not appear
very spectacular, but consider the obstacles God had to overcome. Abraham was
99 years old. 99 YEARS OLD THATS CRAAAZY! And that's not the ONLY thing that's
crazy, Sarah was 90! 90!!!! That's older than all of your grandmothers! MY
goodness! And for her whole life, Sarah had never been able to bear children.
She was now beyond childbearing years. Uhhh yeaAaA thats PRETTY OOLD to even

the Lord?" I mean seriously what could be impossible for the God who created
the universe and everything in it right???
OH and I did some research to quench my curiosity-After the city of SODOM was

Samaria and to the end of the earth to make disciples. But the Christians
still stayed in Jerusalem because they experienced great revival. But God
doesn't only love Jews. He loves all the nations and wants them also know the
Good News. God moved His people to the all nations through the persecution. It
ended up great. many people out of Jerusalem could also hear about the Gospel

Genesis 12-14
Here God's call of Abram to leave his home in UR(which is somewhere near the
Persian Gulf) and travel to a distant but unspecified new land. You know God
was looking for a man of faith who will trust Him completely to keep His
promises. For Abram and his descendents, those promises include receiving a
great name, becoming a great nation, and experiencing great blessing in the
face of impossible odds. I ask myself on how much room have I allowed in my
life
for God to redirect my steps? I mean would I be available to do what Abram
did? I want to ask you whoever's reading this to close your eyes and imagine
for a moment that you are Abram. God has told you to pack your belongings and
prepare to move. "Move where?" you say. Well, "to a place I'll show you at the
proper time. So quit your job, quit your school, load up your stuff, pack up
your family, and head out of town.
DESTINATION: UNKNOWN. Would you be willing to respond with faith and trust Him
on step at a time?

Exodus 23//God makes a big emphasis on not following other idols. And
honestly, it’s probably one that COULDN’T be over stressed. I know I find
myself constantly ensnared with little things that aren’t important. Heck,
today I was looking at Asian celebrities envying their makeup and facial
structures! Then I had a sudden urge to want to be the same (and had an online
shopping fiesta). Hours and hours I dedicated to these false gods that gave me
no true satisfaction. The worse part is I knew it wouldn’t satisfy me. Yet I
did it anyways. It’s such a struggle to maintain the “Christian lifestyle”
while we’re surrounded by values that go against ours. I want to stop
conforming to the way of this world. I don’t want society and “what everyone
else is doing” to tell me how I should live. I want God’s Word to be my
ultimate authority.

Genesis 10-11
So now God repopulates the world. But since the root of sin has not been
removed from individuals' hearts, the fruit of sin soon becomes apparent once
again in proud, disobedient actions. God deals with human failure by
scrambling the languages, causing humanity to disperse over the face of the
earth-as God had originally commanded! HA! "Buenos Dias!" "Say Whaaa??" "Ahnyoung!"
"Who's young??" "Bonsoir!" "Excuse me?? Your BUNS a whaaa??" AhHAhaa. Anyways
after all the description with all these self-serving humans, the story shifts
to one man-ABRAM/ABRAHAM-from whom God builds His nation. You know what's
important about obeying God? He's patient and forgiving. And He will always
give us another chance right? Seriously so far from what I have read, I mean
look at this-God says to NOT eat from the forbidden tree and what did those
two do?? Ohhh they ate it. Look what happens after?! After the flood God gave
Noah's descendants one command: "REPLENISH THE EARTH" Repopulate the world.
How did they respond?? "Heeey I have this whackiest and may be a stupid idea
but why not? Lets build this tower and reach the heavens!!" And once again,
divine judgment followed disobedience. You know God means business when He
gives a command. It is not there to be analyzed or debated or disregarded, It
is there to be OBEYED!

Genesis 6-9 Oh man this rebellion with sin just continues to take its
toll, humanity becomes so sinful that God prepares to execute the death
sentence on the entire race. But in His grace He directs Noah-a just man who
walks with God-to build this HUGE, GREAT ship in order to escape the coming
judgment. Noah obeys, and while the floodwaters purge and wipes out the earth,
the ark preserves human and animal life for a fresh start. After landing on
Mount Ararat, God gives new directions and makes new committments to Noah and
his descendants: "I will remember my covenant" You know I can't help but think
of how after landing Noah gives an altar of sacrifice. You know
God could have just said, Your sins are
forgiven. But it seems like something eternal is happening here. Every time
theres a sacrifice in the Old Testament, its pointing forward to the sacrifice
thats coming. As he smells the BBQ(OoOOoh yea I can't wait for our 4th of July
bbq this week), he smells the sacrifice that Noah is giving in faith of the
coming Messiah. God looks at Jesus and sees how He will pour His wrath on
Jesus, in place of Noah and in place of mankind. He pours His wrath and pours
his love on them as if Noah and his family and his mankind were His Son. He
pours his mercy over them. Then the fire comes onto Jesus Christ on the altar
of the cross.

Gen 3.
Temptation of Satan seemed sweet and attractive that Eve could not stand
against it. She ate the forbidden fruit. It was the moment when our
relationship with God was broken. Sin came to the world. The problem is that
Satan is still doing the same thing. His temptation doesn't look disgusting as
it really is but sweet and attractive that we are having hard time to stand
against it. As I walk with Jesus, I want to choose to resist evil in the name
of Jesus. Then he will flee from me. James 4:7

Exodus 22// WOW! Reading through
these chapters seemed like a looonnnng, unending list of laws made by God. But
when inspected a little more carefully you can see God’s message was not just
a list of rules to be followed. They were lessons! This chapter was sharing
examples of wrongs that were turned to rights. There were scenarios like thief
who was caught stealing would have to pay double for the goods. So then I
thought to myself, what if I was the one who was wrong to being with? Well, if
it was according to God’s law, I suppose it means I should try TWICE as hard
to recover the damage I’ve cause doesn’t it? I really do need to stop and
think before I do anything that can potentially hurt someone else. Definitely
easier said than done. (Which is why I need God’s strength and wisdom big
time!!)

Exodus 14-16
// Man has been fickle for thousands of years but I realize one thing that is
consistent- we tend to doubt God. We question and ask for hard evidence
(especially since we live in a world filled with science laws and theories). But
guess what? Even the Isrealites doubted God! When the Isrealites were chased
after and cornered by the Egyptians by the sea, they cried out to God and
pointed their fingers at Moses yelling, “Why did you take us out of Egypt?”
Although they doubted, God responded. He instructed Moses to split the sea and
He rescued His people. Even after this incident the Isrealites still doubted
God. When they faced the wilderness with no food, they complained and questioned
God’s plan saying, “You’ve brought us out into this wilderness to starve us to
death!” Although they doubted, God responded. He fed them with manna EVERYDAY.
And still, even after this, the Isrealites doubted God. Again they faced the
harshness of wilderness and yearned for something to quench their thirst. And
with no water for them to drink they complained saying, “Why did you drag us out
there to die of thirst?” And although they doubted, God remained faithful and
responded. God told Moses to strike the rock and water would flow out for His
people to drink. Today, we’re all asking the same question, “God, are you really
there for me?” When we face some hardships that seem impossible to overcome, we
lose faith in God so easily. But have confidence and remember that He is always
listening intently as He did with the Isrealites. And though God might not
respond by splitting the sea for us, He’s leaving subtle evidence of His
existence. God will always provide because He will always love us. God will
always love us because He is unchanging and He is love.

Genesis 2:25 We all know Adam and Eve were naked. So I just wished that all
people can live in a way that we respect each other from the inside and out.
When I say this I am a huge hypocrite. But we should try to understand each
other because we are family. If God a scary person than human sees what we do
what is to worry? Is our faith to weak to see that God notices every small
detail we do and that we brush it off. Be cautious in life but try to follow
what God has says in all your life.

Genesis 3-5 Here we see the perfect environment into which man was placed is
now shattered and violated by the entrance of sin. Satan, posing as the subtle
serpent, challenges God's only prohibition on man use of the garden.
Disobedience from eating from the forbidden tree, then expelled from the garden.
Gets worse....immediately sin spreads quickly as humankind and the whole
creation fall under the penalty of death. Cain becomes the first murderer, and
the downward spiral continues from Adam to Noah. Gosh I thought of all those
"miracle products" that are on TV and the radio. 'TRY THIS AND IT WILL HELP YOU
LOSE WEIGHT!' 'DRINK THIS AND IT WILL HELP BOOST YOUR ENERGY!' 'WEAR THIS AND IT
WILL MAKE YOU LOOK GOOD! I GUARANTEE IT!' Convinced, you go out and buy it, only
to discover it fails to live up to its billing. Satan has been in the business
of overselling his "product"-sin-for thousands of years. Boy have I bought into
his false promises. I got to learn to RESIST RESIST RESIST! Heres a scriptural
promise for me! JAMES 4:7!

Matthew 2.
Jesus was born and the wise men from east were searching for Jesus to worship
him. Scholars assume that they came from Persia. They had to pass through the
desert and were in danger of dehydration and robbery. It also took them for
several months to get to Bethlehem. They didn't even know where Jesus was! But
they had such passion and enthusiasm to worship Jesus and celebrate for his
birth. They gave up everything for one worship service. Today is Sunday. There
is no danger to worship Jesus at all. It doesn't take too long to get to church.
But do I have the passion the wise men had to worship the Lord? As I worship Him
today, I want to have to heart. I will worship him with all my heart.

Ezra 1:1
In order to fulfill His plan, God moved the heart of Cyrus, the king of Persia
who was not a believer. He probably had heard of God before but was never
changed. It was God who moved his heart and the king proclaims that God is the
Lord. It is God who moves the hearts of the people in order to fulfill His will
proclaimed by Jeremiah. His will be done! I ask myself this question. Do I really
believe that God's will be done? If I do, how much faith do I have in the Word
of God which would be fulfilled by His power? I want to love and read His Word
more because His will be done because He never fails on His plan. In His Word, I
should have confidence and live out of it.

Acts:23-26
My one thought;
Well in these bible verses it talks about how someone had to replace Judah. It
was said in King David's time that his place would be deserted and that someone
should take his place. And through prayer the disciples had complete faith in
God. Soon after through lots they saw God's choice and picked the 12th apostle
Matthias.

Genesis 1-2
WHooaa!! Here we go, it all starts with God's image bearers that were created
right here-man from the dust of the ground and woman from his ribs. The stage is
set, the characters are in place, the drama can begin. You know when all else
fails, follow the directions. Its an old saying and a belated advice based on a
law as universal as gravity-the Law of Design, which states: "Things work well
when they function according to the way they were designed; they work poorly(or
not at all) when that design is violated." God, the master designer, the artist
of this world, made the water, sky, and land; then He made creatures suited for
each environment. So it should not surprise us to discover that birds make
terrible submarines, or that fish have trouble climbing trees. HA! Anyways you
know the creation is both a monument of God's power and a looking glass in which
we may see His wisdom.

Exodus 7-12
During this time the God was in the process of freeing the Isrealites from Egypt
and did so by sending 10 various "strikes". (Hail, locusts, darkness, death
etc). There was something that stood out to me as I read these chapters. In half
of these strikes, God was showing the Pharaoh a distinction between His people
and the Egyptians. For instances, when God allowed darkness to befall Egypt,
there was only light where the Isrealites lived. To better envision this, I
turned off every light but one. There was a clear distinction for sure, but the
light also intense and it spread out, piercing the darkness. This made me
think...am I living any different from those around me? Am I CHOOSING to be
different? To be living a with a grateful heart filled with passion and purpose
for God? Because just like the Isrealites, I was also chosen not because of who
I am or what I've done, but because God chose me.
